COLUMBUS, Ohio (WTVN) -- A prominent Columbus hospital executive, who works with children, has been arrested for downloading child pornography.
Dr. Christopher Pelloski, 39, turned himself in following a search of his home on July 16th by the Franklin County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Authorities found several items of child pornography on his home computer..
"He was downloading the movies and the pornographic images of children, very young ages, engaging in sex," said Sheriff Zach Scott.
Pelloski is the Director of the Pedicatric Radiation Oncology Program for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Scott says Pelloski's high-profile position makes it so shocking.
"Due to him holding that kind of position it was pretty disturbing that that individual would be working with our kids when he has this type of fetishes."
Investigators are still combing through the evidence on the computers, conducting additional forensic analysis.
The charges could lead to a prison term of five to 20 years if he is convicted.
"Upon learning of the investigation, we immediately severed Dr. Pelloski's access to all medical center facilities, patient records, email, and hospital computer networks. He has resigned from his position at the medical center, effective July 24, 2013," said a statement from OSU Wexner Medical Center.
