NEWARK, Ohio (WTVN) -- Newark Police say they've broken up a gang that is responsible for everything from vandalism to assault.
"First of all I want the citizend of Newark to know they can sleep a little safer this evening," said Chief Steven Sarver.
Seven people were arrested Thursday. Two teens and three adults: Nathan Speight, 20, Brett VanValkenburg, 18 and Rocky VanValkenburg, 27, remain in jail. Two others, Dustin Nelson, 25, and Robert Wheeler, 22, posted bond and have been released.
Police say the crimes began in January when the gang shot out dozens of windows with BB guns.
Some of the men are also accused of randomly attacking people, including a homeless man who was beaten up twice. The man nearly died from the second beating.
The gang is known as the Ohio Boyz.
