CINCINNATI, Ohio (WTVN) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine was taken to a hospital after becoming ill at the "First Friday Luncheon" in Cincinnati Friday. It's an event that features business and political leaders.
DeWine's spokesman, Dan Tierney, said the Attorney General had arrived, but started feeling sick before the event started. He did not lose consciousness. DeWine was alert and taken to Christ Hospital as a precaution.
Tierney said that DeWine had appeared earlier in the day at the Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School, but was feeling fine then.
DeWine will be held in the hospital overnight Friday for observation. His office says DeWine suffered from a bout of vertigo.
